The artificial snake-shaped lake of Ladonas is located between the mountains of Lagkadia and the Afrodisios mountain.
The lake, when at its highest level of operation (420 meters altitude), is 15 km long with maximum width of 1500 m and minimum width of 75 m and its capacity then reaches 49,000,000 m3.
It is supplied with water by the river Ladonas, the springs of which are near Lykouria and on its way it meets the tributaries of Tragos (Panagitsa) and Aroaneio (Planitero).
